Happy New Year! I know I am a little late on the New Years post. However with just getting back from sunny Hollywood, Florida on Sunday and kids going back to school yesterday, now feels like the perfect time for this post.
I have, since my children started going to school, felt that from the first day of school in September right up until, well the 2 nd day after winter break ends, is a mad dash. Why the second day and not the first? Laundry, Christmas decorations, general organization. Then I exhale.
This past year has been an interesting one for me. I started online classes for interior design. I am really enjoying learning and the feeling of accomplishment that doing well brings. As a mom and a wife I don’t get a ton of opportunities to do something that is all about me. I am looking forward to this coming semester.
My kids are doing well, healthy and mostly happy. I still struggle with my 9 year old son’s education. The school he is attending is in it’s second year and it’s very small. While the education itself is excellent, the social aspect is tough. He is dyslexic, but does not suffer from behavioral disorders as some of his classmates do. He has not been able to find a “buddy”. Since we moved him from private tutoring to the school for socialization purposes….this is a problem. When he told me his New Years resolution was to make friends I almost burst into tears. Addressing that will definitely make the top of my list of to do’s or resolutions for 2016.
My health is relatively good, I am looking forward to my Janban, which starts tomorrow. No wine, carbs, or sugar for the month of January. I consumed plenty of all 3 in the last 3 months. I usually don’t make it until the end of the month, but I lets hope I can manage it this year! I am going to try and loose the 8 pounds I have put on since the school year started, all that sitting in the car does not do anything for my figure.
I started this blog, and have gotten off to a very slow start, partly because of the mad dash mentioned above and partly because of the learning curve involved in setting up a blog. I feel like I am getting a handle on both and I am looking forward to posting on a regular basis. I am grateful for all the joy and love that I have in my life and looking forward to sharing more of it in 2016!
Wishing everyone a Happy and Healthy 2016!
